Battery Charger Switch Kit - 5 Position Replacement Switch with Panel Nut Mount fits Various Battery Chargers

 

This rugged rotary switch is a favorite for replacing obsolete charge rate switches in various battery chargers. It can be used as a cost-effective retrofit to replace more expensive OEM switches in many brands. Designed to be easy to install through a 7/16" stem-mounting hole and retained with a panel nut. The wire terminals use industry-standard solderless .250" push-on connectors. 

 

This switch has an OFF position and 4 power positions that are spaced in 60° increments across a 240° arc. When oriented with the OFF position at 12 o'clock, the 4 contact positions are at 2, 4, 6, and 8 o'clock.

 

The switch may be rotated to accommodate chargers that have the OFF position labeled at other clock positions on the charger cabinet. For example, if OFF is located at 8 o'clock on the charger, this switch may be installed to align with OFF at 8 o'clock and the power positions would then be at 10, 12, 2, and 4 o'clock.

 

NOTE: No specialty tools are required. Drilling of the cabinet may be necessary, using 1/4" and 7/16" drill bits. Drilling instructions and template are provided in the instructions. This switch is a good choice as a non-OEM replacement for obsolete switches in older battery chargers. Instructions are included to assist in determining proper wiring connections for these retrofit applications. The instructions require the use of a multimeter.

 

NOTE: Effective May 2026, this switch is shipping with a friction-fit push-on knob with a spring-steel insert. It has the same appearance as the set-screw knob, but it is easier to install and will not work loose over time. The part number for the new knob is 696554.
